FAQ:
What does COBRATEC® do?
- COBRATEC® protects metals by forming a corrosion-resistant film on their surface.
COBRATEC® is uniquely effective on copper, copper alloys and silver. Aluminum
and steel are also protected by choosing the correct COBRATEC® products or by
using COBRATEC® with other corrosion inhibitors.
- COBRATEC® is economical - a little goes a long way. Some cooling water
applications require only 3-5 ppm to prevent copper corrosion.
- COBRATEC® protects metals from copper-initiated localized corrosion by tying up
copper ions. It prevents galvanic corrosion, which causes pitting from copper plated
out on other metals.
- COBRATEC® protects hydrocarbons in functional fluids from decomposition
initiated by copper. Functional fluids include antifreeze/coolant, metal working fluids,
and lubricants.
- COBRATEC® remains stable when exposed to acidic, neutral or basic conditions;
elevated temperature; ultraviolet light; and oxidizing conditions.
