COBRATEC

COBRATEC, which stands for Copper Brass Protection, has been used successfully in protecting those metals since 1956. The first product in the line is COBRATEC 99, benzotriazole, which is used to provide corrosion protection in air and in many specialty applications. COBRATEC TT-100 was commercialized 12 years later and is typically used in systems where water is in continuous contact with copper, brass, cobalt, zinc and many other metals.

COBRATEC CBT, carboxybenzotriazole is used in applying a temporary protective film to semiconductor parts. It can be removed by a caustic wash. Multi-metal protection is more readily achieved using COBRATEC 926, 928, and 948. Those COBRATEC products offer better protection on aluminum, steel, and magnesium than the earlier products.
