Benzotriazole

Benzotriazole, COBRATEC-99, is the first of the COBRATEC line of highly effective corrosion inhibitors for copper, high copper alloys, silver, cobalt, aluminum, and zinc. Benzotriazole is the preferred COBRATEC product in protecting metals from corrosion in air. Benzotriazole protects copper and brass stock during shipment and storage and between processing steps.

COBRATEC 99, benzotriazole, is used on copper and brass to prevent tarnishing on printed circuit boards to prevent oxidation of copper, and in metal cleaners to protect the metal from harsh chemicals. Benzotriazole is also used in coatings for copper, brass and aluminum, in printing inks to protect metals in contact with the inks, and in vapor phase corrosion protection during storage.
